I have learned a lot about pre-production this year, from work experience projects, university course projects and my own work. Good pre-planning can lead to the day being efficient, easy and enjoyable. Having a concise plan for what shots to shoot, and what time and place they need to be done by beforehand gives everyone a goal to work towards, and also means that you dont have to use as much creative energy on the day of the shoot, of which can be long and tedious. For our horror movie, Locked, the first shoot day went well as we planned the shots and timeline, but the second shoot didn't go as well, as we were thinking of the shots on the day. For future projects, I will definately produce a script, storyboards, shot ideas list before all shoots, as well as discussing ideas with the crew before the day of the shoot, to have a better idea of what to expect.
