Website Creation

As a part of our work experience sector, we also have to design a brand, and a website. I already have my brand set out, from my A-level graphic design course, however I didn't have a website. I used the same colours and logo from my A-level course, however I had never created a website before. Wix made it incredibly easy to layout the pages how I wanted to, and there was plenty of information and youtube videos about the dimensions of the pages, and how to add videos to the background etc. The graphic design on my website was done using a combination of illustrator, photoshop and after effects. I am very familiar to illustrator and photoshop, so the basics of the website was easy, including the four background art pieces with the RG gang as cartoons in them, as well as the overlays and components of the pages. However I wanted to add small animations to the backgrounds and cartoon strips, so I learnt the basics of after effects and animated the strips, mostly using the ragdoll pin tool and basic effects, such as wave and wiggle. I want the website to showcase what we are about, who we are and what we have done and will be doing. The about page/home page is very simple and gives the audience a good taste of our humour and what to expect, although I still need to make the home page video. The channel page has information on all members of RG, and I have added buttons to easily navigate through the pages. The channels page took me the lognest to create, as for each member of RG, I created a sub-page. These sub pages included information on each member, a rotating image video and channel links for the member. The gallery showcases some of our old photos to give an impression of us, and the blog page is mostly for uni work, but it is very simplistic and easy to follow. I have really enjoyed creating the website, and will continue to add and evolve it. It is definately worth the many hours I have put into it.

UPDATE: The home page video has been created, of which explains to the audience the goals of Ravin' Gavin and what we are about.
