Watkins Toys Advert

For one of my work experience ventures, I am creating a short 30 second promo video for Watkin Toys, a small toy shop in Taunton. First of all, I went into the shop and started to take photos of the shop for ideas on what I can/can't record. I also spoke to Mr. Watkin, to ask what he wanted in the video. He wanted to showcase that the store has been going since 1940. He also wanted his railway in the window to be showcases, and his vast collection of airfix. One thing that would make for trouble was the lack of electrical sockets in the store, meant that I couldn't use lighting for the promo, so it was all natural lighting. At the time, the camera I was using was a canon m50, which wasn't the greatest in low light. The shoot was very basic, with slide transitions of different toy aisles and collections. Overall, the video wasn't very interesting, although it did showcase the store as well as the many collections of toys. The shop was very small which made it hard to record as I couldn't stand far away from the isles. I added an animation of curtains closing at the end, with a shooting star revealing a Watkin Toys logo. For my first advert, I think it went decently, but next time I will definately have a clearer pre-production, so that I don't have to think about what I am shooting when at the shoot location. I also lacked communication with Mr.Watkin, and I took a while to create the finished product, which I will improve on in the future.
