Before we get into the main 5 minute short horror movie, we were tasked to create a short 2 minute horror, with the title of 'the box'. Our initial concept for this movie would be a box randomly appearing on a boys desk using short sharp sounds. The boy would touch the box and we teleported into a woods, were crescendo sounds would build up as the boy runs through the woods from something. The boy will eventually trip and get teleported back to his room with the box. The boy would be on the floor and you would see a hand appear from the box. We started production for this short, with a basic plan and script, but as we started to shoot certain parts such as the woods scenes, we realised that making a horror movie would be a lot harder then we thought. When watching the result of what we had shot, there was no sort of tension or anything for the audience to be scared at. The shoot day was rushed as we wanted to shoot at dark but the lights we had weren't great. Our pre-planning also wasn't horror orientated. We knew that for the main 5 minute short, to help with the shooting, our concept for the horror needed to have an element of fright in itself, so that we didn't have to over do the music effects and sounds.
