1st podcast attempt- With the knowledge of how to set up the studio using lighting techniques as well as framing techniques, we set up the studio to record our first podcast. We used a similar setup to our first attempt but using a more formal approach so the presenter and interviewees were sat on opposite sides of a table instead of on a separate sofa. We included coloured lights in the background of which made the production feel more professional. I had never recorded a podcast or anything like it before and so I was both excited and nervous to record the first one, especially seeing as it was a bit last minute and we didn’t have a specific script or running order. The podcast didn’t run very smoothly and there were many different things that we did poorly. Not having a script that we could follow meant that we kept on going on tangents, and the presenter couldn’t keep us on track, leading to a boring and unstructured listening/viewing. The points that we did talk about were not engaging and we were talking over each other. As well as this, one of the crew said an offensive term; of which if we were recording live would have been an issue. We learnt that you especially need a running order and a script beforehand, and a rehearsal could have been a big help. Apart from this, the visuals and the lighting of the studio and the production were very good, so not all was a disaster.
