Real life music productions- Our next studio production was to create a music performance show. We knew that there would be multiple bands, and we had to showcase them. To start off with the research we looked at already existing music productions. We found that we took the most inspiration from ‘Later with Jools Holland’ as well as ‘Top of the Pops’. Both of them used the format of having a band perform, and then switching to some sort of interview or another section to split band performances up so that they were not constant. We liked the thought of an interview between performances, and this was also something that had been done in this production in prior years. We also wanted to use a lot of moving coloured lights to give off an active pop theme. I was very excited to create this production at first, but as we went on, we realised that the production was going to be a lot bigger than last time, and we would also have a lot of people performing, so we had to get the schedule correct, as well as create a well-oiled day plan. This made us all determined to create a good running order of the day, as well as asking for a lot of information from the music college, to create good interview questions and also decide on the final theme for the production. Overall I think we did a good amount of research. We created various plans, we underwent risk assessments, and the week before the production, we checked out both studios and set them up with furniture arrangement, lighting and where we could place cameras to get the most out of the production.
