Lockdown 3.0

Until February 30th 2021, the UK has been put under a third national lock down. This means that you are only allowed to meet up with 1 other person from outside of your bubble, and only for exercising purposes. This means that filming is very tricky, with a maximum of 2 people building up the casting team. This has meant that I have had to ditch my storyboards for my 2 music videos, and I will have to come up with alternative music videos.

My music video for 'Solivagant', of which is my live brief client, I will have to change the storyboard, so that there are only 2 characters within the story. I can continue down relatively the same path, excluding the group dances, and final scene, so I will need to work around this. The rework for the storyboard shouldn't take too long in all fairness, and there is definitely a work around.

My second music video for 'Monkey Suit' was still in the construction stage for the creation of the storyboard, although I did have an idea in mind of using street, especially around Bristol of which doesn't seem viable at the moment. I also planned on using the artist in the song, of which I still might look into, although it would have to be recorded for me, ideally on a green screen, as the artist lives in a different area. We have recently been looking at multiple video effects to use in music videos, and I am thinking of making a pre-comp music video for this song, using footage of the artist, and lyric inspired assets, and making the video quite crazy.

Although it is definitely a bummer, there is always a work around in media, and although the outcome might not be quite as spectacular, it is a chance to show working outside of the box, as well as learning new skills. Hopefully I can make the most of the lock down time.
